Explore Ham Ninh Phu Quoc Fishing Village.

Ham Ninh fishing village, a village nestled at the foot of ham Ninh mountain, Ham Ninh Commune, Phu Quoc district, Kien Giang Province. Ham Ninh is an ancient, untouched village with thatched roofs, simple bamboo walls. The villagers lived by catching pearls, sea cucumbers, and nets. Ham Ninh is also known today for Bai Rong Wharf, beautiful beaches and many unique seafood.

No one knows if this village will ever be, only know that, when Phu Quoc Island is deserted, some remote residents come here to exploit seafood, and then set up the village to live. When the ocean door echoes the waves, Ham Ninh is a quiet and safe bungalow. The sailing boats, the boats from the mainland to dock here to board the goods and then carry seafood away. During the Ming Dynasty, Ham Ninh was a village in general Phu Quoc, Ha Chau District, Phu An Bien province, Ha Tien province. During the period of Thieu Tri, Tu Duc, to the beginning of the French colonial period, Ham Ninh belonged to Kien Giang County, then Rach Gia, then Ha Tien. From 25-05-1874, Ham Ninh belongs to Phu Quoc County. From 16-06-1875, Ham Ninh belongs to Ha Tien County. From 05-01-1876, called Village in Ha Tien County. From 20-08-1888, changed to Chau Doc County. From December 27, 1892, Ha Tien County again.

 

After 30-04-1975, in Phu Quoc district, Kien Giang Province. On 17-02-1979, separated two hamlets Bai Thom, Hon one entered into Cua Kan commune; separated Hamlet Rach Ham entered into Duong to commune; Ham Binh commune changed its name to Bai Bai Commune. Then take back the name Ham Ninh. On 24-04-1993, separating part of ham Ninh Commune with part of the land separated from CUA Kan commune to set up new commune Bai Thom.

Ham Ninh fishing village is located on the east coast of the island, behind the mountains and forests, in front of the vast sea. The sea of ham Ninh is a few hundred yards away and still shallow. When the water is net, the immense sand runs away, and when the water rises, it floods the field, into the edge of the forest. Standing on Ham Ninh beach, looking far away can see The Pirate Islands; deviating to the Southeast, Hon Nghe faded on the sea; to the South is Mr. Doi - the last cape of the island.

Visit Ham Ninh early in the morning or on moonlit nights to enjoy all the beauty of this sea. Here visitors will enjoy the scenery of Nhat Nguyet floating on the sea. Come here without enjoying boiled crabs, it is not complete.
